Poems by Redruth School students

Students at Redruth School, Cornwall, have produced a fantastic body of poetry about World War One to coincide with work at the school to create a Remembrance Room to mark the centenary of the conflict.

Lucy Johnson, history teacher at the school, has overseen the building of a trench, the collection of photographs, memorabilia and stories to create a stunning installation. The Remembrance Room was dismantled earlier this year (classroom space is needed at the school). But the poems will live on. We are displaying them at the Heart of Conflict exhibition at the Cornish Studies Library, Redruth,  We’re also including a selection on our Heart of Conflict website.  Heart of Conflict, marking the centenary of World War One, is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
